The second panel of the conference was dedicated to the topic “From Challenge to Change: How School Leaders Are Rethinking Learning with AI.” The session was moderated by Atabey Guliyev, Director of the Khankendi branch of the Modern Educational Complex Named in Honour of Heydar Aliyev.

The panel featured Dr. Rena Alasgarova, AI Strategy and Governance specialist and instructor at ADA University; Francesco Banchini, CEO & Director of the European Azerbaijan School and Chairman of the Caucasus & Central Asia Association of IB World Schools; and Dr. Keklik Gezalova, Dean of the School of Education at Karabakh University and an education leader with more than 25 years of experience in higher education and academic management.

The discussion focused on decision-making processes related to artificial intelligence in schools, the role of teachers within these processes, ethical responsibility in AI-based systems, and the safe integration of AI into educational environments.

During the panel, the speakers shared their perspectives on the evolving role of teachers in the age of AI, the future of school leadership, new approaches to teacher preparation, and the challenges emerging from the integration of AI into education systems. The panelists also emphasized that artificial intelligence represents not only a technological transformation in education, but also an opportunity to rethink leadership, ethics, and human-centered approaches in learning environments.
