MTK Team Participates in CIS Workshop in Seville

MTK Hero Background

On November 12, 2025, one day prior to the CIS Global Forum, the leadership team of the Modern Educational Complex Named in Honour of Heydar Aliyev participated in the CIS workshop “Bridging the Gap Between Schools and Universities”, held at Universidad Loyola Andalucía in Seville, Spain.

MTK was represented by CEO Tural Abbasov, School Principal Nelson Urrego, CFO Mehman Babayev, and University Counsellor Aysel Aliyeva.

The full-day workshop focused on post-secondary transitions, international student success, well-being, and retention. It brought together school counsellors, university admissions professionals, and student support experts from around the world to strengthen transition programmes and improve student pathways from secondary to higher education.

Participants explored the CIS Educational Transition Framework, a research-based model addressing academic, social, and emotional transitions. Key themes included mental health and well-being, inclusion and diversity, financial and cultural challenges, and the needs of third culture kids (TCKs) and students requiring additional learning support.

For the MTK leadership team, the workshop served as a valuable foundation for the CIS Global Forum and reinforced the school’s commitment to student well-being, strong university guidance, and successful post-secondary outcomes.
